Thirty-three things to have in place before the main duties of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Rules, 2025 apply. Each line cites the section or rule it comes from.
The dates
The Rules were notified on 13 November 2025. Consent Manager provisions apply after one year (November 2026). Notice, consent, security, breach reporting, retention and patients' rights apply after eighteen months (May 2027). Lawyers count the dates slightly differently — plan to 12 May 2027.
